When a Facebook friend posted the following quote it really got me thinking: \u201cI don’t want to end up simply having visited this world.\u201d Mary Oliver<\/em><\/p>\n

The words resonated strongly and I thought:\u00a0 “neither do I.\u00a0 I really don\u2019t want to end up simply having visited this world.\u00a0 No, surely, there is purpose to my visit. And for some brief moments I contemplated the finding of that purpose.\u00a0 Which took me to a recent\u00a0 conversation I had with a client that came for a healing session. He spoke of his Spiritual Journey and he listed all the places he had visited and all the \u201cwise ones\u201d he had met and yet, still he seeks. ‘Ah, maybe that\u2019s it’, I offered. You\u2019ve been over there, gone down yonder and are now here \u2013 still you seek. Others can tell you this, that or the other, but you best know yourself. And you reveal yourself to yourself through your relationship with other \u2013 from stranger, to friend, to spouse, to offspring. With every action and reaction, you reveal yourself to yourself. But only when we have the courage to reflect on those actions and reactions. So Knowing Yourself doesn\u2019t really require a seeking, it requires a being \u2013 simply being, being conscious and loving every moment of further discovery of self.”<\/p>\n
